A: At Fullerton Dancesport Center we offer private, semi-private, and group lessons.
A private lesson is a lesson between an individual or couple with an instructor for 45 minutes, by appointment only.
A semi-private lesson is a private lesson of 3 or more people with an instructor for 45 minutes, by appointment only.
Both private and semi-private lessons can be scheduled Monday-Friday from 10am till 10pm, or Saturday & Sunday from 10am-4pm.
A group lesson generally consists of 5-25 people, and is taught by one instructor for 45 minutes. There is no appointment or pre-registration required for our group classes; simply come in a few minutes prior to the beginning of the class, and sign in at our reception counter. A schedule of all classes can be found at the calendar portion of our website.
Q: Do I need a partner?
A: A partner is not required for any of our classes.
Q: Do I need to know how to dance already?
A: Prior experience is great, but not necessary; most of the group classes we teach are beginning level classes. We teach students of all levels, from those who claim they have ‘two left feet’ to couples that are regularly competing in nationally recognized dancesport competitions.
Q: What should I wear to my dance lessons?A:Clothing: The most important element for dancing is comfort. Generally, students find what they like to wear to lessons through trial and error. It is best not to wear anything that would restrict one’s movement, and to keep in mind that you will sweat during class.
Q: How often should I take a dance lesson?A: We recommend that you take a minimum of one private lesson per week, and ideally, if your schedule permits it, two lessons per week. If you’re taking group lessons exclusively we recommend that you choose 2-3 different dances, and attend those classes each week.
